How to reach Porto and ICCT 2025 Conference Venue
If you are arriving by air, land at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, situated approximately 17 kilometers northwest of Porto’s city center. From the airport, you have multiple options to reach ICCT2025:
OPTION 1
By Metro: At the airport, there's a metro station linked to Line E, also known as the Violet Line. This line offers a convenient way to travel to the Casa da Música station, which is situated near the ICCT2025 conference venue. Line E, easily identifiable by its Violet color, operates with a frequency of every 20 or 30 minutes, varying based on the time of day and the day of the week.
When obtaining your metro ticket (Andante), it's essential to take into account the zones you intend to traverse. Your ticket should encompass all the zones encompassed in your route. The validity period of the ticket, whether it's for a single trip or a day pass, will hinge on the included zones. The Andante tickets are reloadable with any type of travel plan. It's crucial to verify the zones you'll be traversing and choose the appropriate Andante ticket accordingly. By doing so, you'll ensure the validity of your ticket for the entirety of your planned journey within the designated zones. The Andant ticket it is also valid in the SCTP Buses.
Example of the single trip ticket: When traveling from the airport to Casa da Música, you are required to acquire a Z4 single ticket. The price of this ticket is 2.15€, and upon validation using the machines, it remains valid for a span of 1 hour and 15 minutes.
OPTION 2
By Bus: The airport features a designated bus stop named Aeroporto.
During both daytime and nighttime hours:
Line 601 (Airport-Cordoaria – via Mar Shopping): The services on this route are scheduled at approximately 25-minute intervals. Please take note that the Boavista – Bom Sucesso Bus Stop (with the code 1BS2) is in proximity to the ICCT 2025 Conference venue, while the Cordoaria Bus Stop (with the code CORD3) is conveniently situated near the city center.
Line 602 (Airport – Cordoaria – via Padrão de Moreira). The services on this route run approximately every 25 minutes.
For the late-night network:
Line 3M (Av. Aliados – Airport). The service operates with a frequency of approximately 60 minutes. The Av. Aliados Bus Stop (with the code 1AL2) is conveniently situated near the city center.
OPTION 3
By Taxi: Taxis can be found outside the airport terminal, operating 24/7 throughout the city. They are also readily available at taxi ranks. Taxis are considered very secure in Portugal. A taxi ride from the airport to the city center, covering approximately 20 km, usually costs between 25 and 40 €. Most taxi drivers are proficient in English, making communication easy.
OPTION 4
By Uber: Uber's service in Portugal is both secure and highly efficient. The cost of an Uber ride from the airport to the city center may vary between 25 and 40 €, depending on traffic conditions.
Getting to the Conference Venue
To access the premises of the ICCT2025 conference, you have some feasible routes:
The nearby bus stops serving the ICCT2025 conference site are Planetário and Gólgota. By using these stop names, you can easily find the most suitable bus lines for your travel via STCP.
The closest metro station to the ICCT2025 conference is Casa da Música. The distance between Casa da Música metro station and the Conference Venue is approximately 2 km. The walk takes around 25 minutes. Alternatively, you can opt to take a bus from Casa da Música metro station to the conference location. Here are a few bus choices: 204/209 (disembark at the Planetário bus stop) or 902/903 (disembark at the Gólgota bus stop).
